A bit about Brett...

• Where is your hometown? Darien, IL
• What’s one highlight from your first semester of college? Getting to recognize and actualize my independence! Being fully in control of my time and decisions was something I really learned to cherish. Also, earning a spot on my cross country team’s Conference and NCAA Regional lineups as a first-year was a big highlight in achieving big goals I had set out for myself.
• What do you wish you’d known when you started college? To embrace the roller coaster-like journey that is college. There’s going to be ups, as well as some downs, but it won’t be all sunshine and rainbows your entire four years. Embracing and acknowledging those hard times and using campus support resources will go a very long way!
• What do you like about advising first and second year students? The conversations with students! There’s so many opportunities for first and second year students to learn, explore, and grow and I enjoy helping guide students to follow their interests and curiosities.
• What’s your favorite thing about Loyola? It’s really hard to beat the view of the Lakefront!
• What’s your favorite thing about Chicago? To name a few things…. the food, endless exploration opportunities, the rowdy sports culture, the food, the lakefront, the way people say “two tree," and the food.
• What do you like to do in your spare time? From March-September I can be found watching (and yelling at) the White Sox, but otherwise, I love going to local coffee shops, running, playing rec league softball, playing my Nintendo Switch, and spending time with my cat.
